Back on the Exercise Bandwagon! (gosh, I despise working out)
June 1 - Daisy of Love + 30 minutes of cardio + 20 minute walk with Newlywed Husband and Winston. June 2 - Does packing count? I'm saying it does. June 3 - Attempting to go to a Bikram Yoga class tonight. Back with details later. (if I don't die). - Didn't go. Oops. June 4 - Is having to say goodbye to the best boss ever not stressful enough without adding a workout? June 5 - Rollerbladed 5 miles. Pretty much almost died. June 6 - Helped FFW move. Walking up and down stairs is enough of a workout thankyouverymuch. June 7 - Rollerbladed 5 miles. Feeling the burn is an understatement. June 8 - July 9 - does opening a bottle of chardonnay count as exercise? No? How about shopping? Still no? Fine, I give up.
I have a best friend who last year spent the summer in Germany and this summer she is in Italy. I also have a sister who lives in Puerto Rico. Skype has made it much easier to deal with because at least you can talk with the webcam and it kind of simulates a person to person talk. It's hard, but thank god for technology. We are able to keep in touch in so many ways.
Most of my friends live far away. The closest is about 2 hours away. The others are clear across the country. It's tough. We talk on the phone and meet up when possible. It's comforting to know they are simply a phone call away and that the instant I need them, they will be there.
All of my best friends from college live at least somewhat far away (primarly between 1-4 hours which isn't horrible but still hard to see them regularly) What we do is plan out a time or weekend to get together far in advance and try to do that at least every couple months. It still sucks but in between we email a lot and call.
Well, either way, I think that picture is hilarious.
My true, one and only BFF lives in California. I miss her terribly and of course, no one will replace her and she truly is my "other half" and I realllllllly miss her--but, we e-mail and chat regularly, as best we can... and, I try to build stronger relationships with my local friends here--I've got a few really close really dear friends here which I am thankful for.
Plus, text messages and inside jokes really help :)
we used to give my friend's malti-poo arbor mist in college and we thought it was HILARIOUS. haha
it's hard to have friends far away - but you deal. Luckily we live in this great day and age where everyone is so accessible through texting, phone, facebook, etc. :)
Ooohhh my dear sweet crazy friend! I am just now getting to my blog reading. I love you!! and I miss you terribly! Holly's such a lush, she misses your wine almost as much as I miss you!!
"Well, if you want my opinion, any recipe that starts by saying 'Open a beer, take a few swigs, and shove the rest of the can up a chicken's rear - then grill the whole thing'... is bound to be a good recipe. " said to FFW as we were discussing the fact that she was about to have beer can chicken for dinner...

Ummm...I don't have a single close friend that lives within a 12 hour drive from me. Trust me, I feel your pain.
