Saturday I'm kidnapping him from work at about 6pm (he usually doesn't get home until about 8pm on Saturdays). Winston is going to spend the night at a doggie hotel, and I'm packing Alan's overnight bag on the sly.
First, we're going to check into our suite at the Ashton Hotel, which is a beautiful boutique hotel in downtown Ft. Worth. Opened in 2001, the Ashton was created by restoring/merging two historic buildings - one was originally built in 1890 and the other dates back to 1915!
We have the 'Romance Suite' that has a big glassed-in shower and a 2-person jacuzzi tub!

We're also eating dinner at the restaurant inside the Ashton, a Texas-style restaurant called 610 Grille. (Why is it that by adding an 'e' to the end of a word, it instantly becomes fancier?)
Next, we're going to hop in a cab to go to Billy Bob's Texas, a fabulously country honky-tonk in the Ft. Worth Stockyards.

Kevin Fowler is playing Saturday night, so I got us some reserved seats, but I doubt we'll sit for long. Newlywed Husband and I are both enthusiastic (if not skilled) dancers, especially one or two drinks in. I plan to take a cab to and from the hotel, so neither one of us have to worry about driving, and we can just let our hair down (ok, I can let my hair down, his crew-cut probably isn't going anywhere :) and relax for the evening!
